Mountaineers has finally registered their first victory this season after two consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Suns (1-3) 79-67 on Sunday. WC Mountaineers outrebounded Tshwane S. 56-26 including a 40-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when WC Mountaineers made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Stephen Gabriel (205-1991) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman Asiphamandla Mayi (188-1992) who added 8 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Guard Lethabo Makgalemele responded with 20 points and 4 assists. Suns' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.
